ISDI was founded as a contribution to extensive discussions with experts and academics of social sciences (sociologists, demographers, economists, geographers, etc.) and as a market demand to establish a specialized institution of this nature, who has been missed by Kosovar society in general and not only. ISDI has its origins in the Albanian Institute of Sociology – AIS, where for about two decades our team has served and led the Albanian Institute of Sociology and the Albanian Sociological Association in Tirana and this can also be considered as a driving force or positive inspiration to create ISDI -in. ISDI is located in Pristina, which works in partnership with the academic and research communities at the national, \u00a0regional and wider levels. Around him there is a team of dedicated researchers from social fields, including demography, sociology, economics, pedagogy, geography, jurisprudence, etc.<\/p>

ISDI is engaged in pursuing applied research in contemporary society and in providing problem-solving advice on specific topics in this field that would influence policy-making and community development. ISDI conducts empirical surveys, public opinion polls and case studies, applying modern qualitative and quantitative research methods. It also uses information, concepts and methods drawn from related scientific fields, such as sociology, education, economics, law, political science, demography, migration, social geography, gender studies, technology, etc.<\/p>
